Margaret Teeling-Uitvlugt's life as a military brat afforded her the unique opportunity to live in various parts of the United States, including culturally rich cities like New Orleans, LA, and historical hubs like Washington, DC. This diverse upbringing has greatly influenced her worldview and her writing.
Margaret’s foray into writing began after she faced life-altering health challenges. Following two emergency surgeries and a near-death experience, she found solace and inspiration in creating her debut novel, Willow. This urban fantasy novel reflects her journey of personal transformation and resilience.
Her professional life is equally dynamic. With a Bachelor of Music Education from Arkansas State University, Margaret has spent over two decades as a music educator, sharing her love for general music and band with students. Her expertise as a professional clarinetist and pianist has enriched her teaching career, and her dedication to the fine arts is unwavering.
Beyond her professional and creative pursuits, Margaret is an avid reader and culinary enthusiast who loves to explore new recipes. Swimming is another passion of hers, offering both physical exercise and a mental retreat.
Margaret is deeply committed to social causes. She is a passionate advocate against domestic violence, working tirelessly to support victims and raise awareness about this critical issue. Additionally, she is dedicated to animal and nature conservation efforts, with a particular focus on endangered species, especially wolves.
She currently resides with her supportive husband and their four wonderful children—one biological son and three adopted children (two girls and one boy). Her family is her greatest joy and her biggest inspiration.
